One Room Challenge Week 4
How is the One Room Challenge almost over? We only have one more week before the full reveal! Eek! Thankfully, everything is coming along smoothly in our dining room. This week, it got a beautiful coat of Farrow & Ball (Babouche ) paint and I love it so much! Even the heartmate was surprised by how pretty it turned out. He was very apprehensive about a yellow dining room at first. It's actually not as saturated as I thought. It's not as intense as the color of yolk but a little brighter than mustard.
Is this really the same dining room? Like, my dining room? Because it looks like a ballroom that belongs in some palace! Yaaas! Forget eating in here. I just wanna vogue or sing me some Careless Whisper. Haha.
I painted the wainscoting white and kept everything above the chair rail yellow to create contrast. Remember how flat and one dimensional the dining room used to be in all white? And with the new panel moulding from Metrie, there's just so much more oomph! Question for you guys: should I paint the switch plates or swap them out for brass plates? I can't decide.
The new dining chairs arrived! The green helps cool down the yellow. We're still waiting for the chandelier. Fingers crossed! Tomorrow, I'm picking up artworks and sconces from my New Orleans favorites, Leroy Miranda Jr. and Sazerac Stitches. I'll share with you next week what's going up on the walls! Time to hustle!
Sweet thanks to Farrow & Ball, Metrie, and All Modern for being official sponsors of the One Room Challenge.
