Renovating My Guest Bathroom Part One
We’re finally updating our small guest bathroom and I’m so excited that The Home Depot is transforming the space for me through their Home Services. No one knows home improvement better than their remodelers and home services experts. Being a DIYer, I usually tackle projects myself but I’m excited to let Home Depot’s team bring my bathroom vision to life.
I met with Jace, who’s The Home Depot's local certified bath remodel professional. We discussed my vision and figured out a better layout. Jace even created a timeline for me, which is online so I can track their progress. I don’t have to manage or source any of the contractors, because they handle all of that, even permits! This saves me so much time. I can focus on the fun parts like designing and styling.
Here’s a quick sketch of the placement and layout for the bathroom.
We’re going to gut the entire space and give it a new facelift, because the people who flipped it did a sloppy job. In terms of design and style, I’ve always been inspired by Morocco, Mexico City, and Spanish architecture. I want to make a big impact in this small space. We’re going to tile the entire bathroom from floor to ceiling. And The Home Depot has an amazing selection of tiles online. I found the perfect Zellige tiles in a terracotta color. I still want this bathroom to compliment the other bathrooms in our home so I’ve decided to use a palm green hex tile on the floor since the other two bathrooms have green tiles as well.
We also found the perfect little vanity from The Home Depot. It’s 30 inches, which will free up some space. I love having a natural, earthy element like wood to warm up the room, especially when you have so much tile. And I’m thinking of installing an arched shower door, which will tie into the arches featured throughout our home.
