Avalon Hotel Beverly Hills
A few months ago, Justina and I checked out the Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills. We were told that it was given another facelift (as do most things in Beverly Hills, haha) by our home girl, Kelly Wearstler. The Avalon was once the Beverly Carlton which first opened in 1949, but was bought by a property developer, Brad Korzen in 1998 — who happens to be Kelly Wearstler's hubby! The Avalon is one Kelly's first major projects and the redesign is still true to the mid-century vibes of its former years. I absolutely love the vibrant trompe l'oeil patterns on the walls which are inspired by the Italian architect Gio Ponti. It's definitely worth checking out. Now that hotels have become places where you don't have to book a room, you can make a quick stop, grab a drink, sit by the pool, and chill. There's also the new restaurant, Viviane next to it, which is another Wearstler knockout.
