Maintaining Luigi and Sterling’s Youthful Vitality
This post is sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition, all opinions below are my own
Even though I’m an LA baby through and through, an interesting thing happened when my partner and I finally made the move back here full time after our stint in New Orleans. Los Angeles has long been notorious as a place focused on wellness (it’s hard to walk a block without seeing someone holding a green juice, for example), but only recently did that way of life start to really influence my own. Maybe it’s just our maturity, but lately we’ve been trying to be a lot more mindful of our health — both mind and body. And a big part of that is thinking about nutrition.
But the focus on what we are eating didn’t just stop with me and my heartmate. It’s also affected how we care for our furry family, too! Did you know that, just like humans, your pets’ nutritional needs change with the different cycles of their life? That means that if you’re still feeding yours what at 10 years old what they were eating at 1 or 2, they might not be as healthy and happy as they could be. This realization came once I started my partnership with Hill’s Pet Nutrition.
Basically, I was first connected to Hill’s when we adopted Verbena, our 1-year-old kitty and most recent addition. At her first appointment, our vet recommended the brand to give her the nutrition she had been missing (she was so skinny and under-nourished from living on the street). She’s been flourishing since then — honestly the sweetest, cuddliest lap cat ever — which got us thinking about what we’re feeding our pups Luigi and Sterling as well. Then, once I teamed up with Hill’s Pet Nutrition and learned about their various types of food to benefit different pet needs, I knew it was time to make a change.
Luigi is 8-years-old and Sterling is 7-years-old, which makes them perfect candidates for Hill’s Science Diet Youthful Vitality. Just like my partner and I want to amp up the vitamins and minerals to keep our immune systems strong, and energy levels high, and (obviously) stay looking as youthful and glowy as possible, our animals work the same way. That said, this formula includes Omega 3 and 6 fatty acids for a shiny coat, easy-to-digest ingredients for happy bellies, and antioxidants and vitamins that keep their immunity strong. Basically, they’re on the same nutrition plan we are! And that’s great — because we plan on keeping our playtime, walks, and cuddle sessions going on as long as possible.
