Living Room Refresh with Castlery
My aunt does so much for our family, but she rarely thinks of herself. So when Castlery invited me to makeover a room using their cool, modern pieces, I knew she’d be the perfect person to treat.
One of my signatures in any room is sprinkling some yellow. That said, I understand that not everyone loves to splash bold hues from floor to ceiling. Despite the fact that we’re related, my aunt is one of those people. Though I must say, over the years I think I’ve had a bit of influence on her decor preferences. Just because something is neutral in color doesn’t mean it has to be boring. Just look at the Paloma bouclé armchair I chose for the room. It’s got a sexy shape and I’m a sucker for boucle. It’s trending right now, but I also think it will be chic forever. We hung up yellow velvet curtains and brought in yellow gladiolus for that extra punch of yellow.
To add in another natural texture, I also picked out the Mico Rattan Stool. Rattan adds a tropical touch to any space and makes it feel more relaxed and adds extra seating. With all my Castlery pieces in place, I added smaller pops of color and patter with art, plants, and pillows to balance the yellow sofa and make the room feel even more layered and personalized. The end result was the perfect blend of modern and laid-back that made it so well suited to my aunt’s lifestyle.
