FLEETING MOMENTS from SAN FRANCISCO

Two weeks and 7600 miles later — New York, San Francisco, and Portland, you've been real good to me. But I gotta say, I'm happy to be home in my own bed again. I have plenty of photos to share, plus rolls of black and white film waiting to get developed. These photos were made from the iPhone4 and edited using the Afterlight app. My current favourite for editing photos!

So, when I was up in the bay, I stayed with my friend in Emeryville. And the reason I stopped by SF was to attend TYPO talks. This year's delightful string of speakers included Rena Tom, Kelli Anderson, Jessi Arrington, Ludovic Balland, Erik Spiekermann, and my talented friend, Satsuki Shibuya. I even ran into old co-workers. Listening to creative creatures talk brings me back to my college years. I miss it. After that, my friend and I drove up to Portland. I'll share those photos soon. Portland is a charming city, just as charming as San Francisco.

Smitten Ice Cream — I think they switched their cones to waffle cones. I remember it being totally different a year ago. The ice cream is nice but I'm not completely smitten this time around.

Satsuki Shibuya talks about slowing down and doing absolutely what you love. Here are some of her tips: Take a moment to listen to your intuition, gut, spirit, whatever you want to call it. Just listen, it already knows the answer. Her talk definitely prompted me to analyze the recent choices I've made, both creative and personal.

Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. I love catching quiet moments of people alone.

Mmm...yummy carbs at The Mill. Thanks, Jeanne for introducing me to this great coffee spot.

Nice styling over at Steven Alan.

Love everything about this lady. The way her necklace dangles backwards, that purple cardigan, and her salt and pepper hair, plus Rauschenberg. At SFMOMA
