Whenever I head back to Los Angeles, I always stay with my other bae, Han, in Highland Park. We’ve been friends for over 20 years so it feels like visiting my sister. We’ve been slowly redoing different corners of her home (back house, master bedroom, and guest room). This time, we are tackling the living room which is an open floor plan that blends into the dining room. It’s essentially a multifunctional space. She also has a desk wall unit to work from. I’m excited to partner with Overstock to help turn this space into a Moroccan-inspired retreat.
We recently traveled to Marrakech and Fez together where she actually bought more Moroccan goodies than I did. So naturally, we’re going to layer in all those delicious finds. What’s great is that Han and I happen to share the same aesthetic so it makes decorating (and everything) really easy. That’s just how we jive. We joke how our homes are pretty much identical and we’re not mad about it. It’s like home away from home for me.
Above is a mood board I created for the living room. We’re starting with a neutral base, using a grey modular sofa. I love its clean lines and wooden frame. Then we’re grounding the space with a jute rug that has fun tassels. We just can’t say no to tassels! I can’t wait to get started on this refresh on my next trip out there. It’s gonna be rad. Stay tuned!
